HISTORY OF COVENANT CHRISTIAN CHILDREN’S HOMES OF TEXAS
In 2005 Grady and Juanita Morris was given a vision from God to provide comfort and security to abused, neglected children from the San Antonio and surrounding areas. After much prayer, Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas was birthed into existence. This vision has resulted in a ministry that allows all who participates in its vision, to partake in this ministry’s mission of “Protecting Our Precious Gifts”.
Grady and Juanita have many years of experience working with adults and children with special needs. They have a passion to meet the increasing need for homes to care for hurting children in South Texas. Their vision is and continues to be one of providing a safe haven for each of these young victims, through a continuing atmosphere of hope, faith and caring in a loving therapeutic foster home environment.
Today, the Morris's mission has developed into an exciting, growing child welfare and foster care support ministry. They have developed a professional team with more than 50 years of experience working with foster children, youth with special needs, as well as foster families. In it’s first full year of operation, Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas served over 30 families and children in the San Antonio metropolitan area. The Morris’s continue to be active in the day-to-day operations of the organization, and they hold every area to the highest standards. They actively offer support to foster children and families and staff who share in their vision of serving all children with excellence. They continually expand the scope of the ministry to provide additional services, and they rely on God to direct the path of the ministry, leading it to a reputation of excellence and integrity.
The Morris’s not only want to provide safe homes for children in need, but they also want to leave a positive, lasting influence on every child who is entrusted into the care of the foster families they support. Through its Holistic F.A.C.T.S (Fostering Adoptive Children through Total Support) auxiliary and their foster children support auxiliary F.A.C.E. (Foster and Adopted Children Engaged) Programs, Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas also has a goal of providing opportunities for healing, growth, and development leading to healthier infants, children, youths, and foster families, with safe and nurturing relationships intended to last a life time.
Each of the foster families receiving support services from Covenant Christian Children's Homes of Texas provide a safe, loving, accepting and stable home for foster children from all walks of life. We work closely with these families as they endeavor to transition them as quickly as possible back with their family or into another permanent home. Each of these children, through CCCHOT's continuum of holistic and synergistic foster support services, will build self-confidence, conduct themselves with integrity and have the tools to develop into productive citizens with high moral character.
The needs of abused and neglected children cannot be overstated and thusly requires from each of us our very best efforts. Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas continues to be a vehicle to provide a safe haven for each of these young victims, through a continuing atmosphere of hope, faith and caring in a loving therapeutic foster home environment.
Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas is committed to promoting and enhancing the positive growth of foster children and foster families through preventive, supportive, and therapeutic services. We greatly appreciate the support and help of individuals and organizations throughout the communities we serve. Ultimately, we hope that you will come to know that Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas is a caring ministry working diligently to touch the lives of vulnerable individuals physically, emotionally and spiritually. At Covenant Christian Children’s Homes of Texas, we are moving forward with great strength and purpose to be the best at what we do in order to continue “Protecting Our Precious Gifts”.
